Bible Study on Abuse

Abuse, is a sin, as it is not an act of love. There are many types of abuse including physical abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, economic abuse, mental abuse and sexual abuse. We should avoid all kinds of abuse language that insult, intimidate or hurt people’s feelings. We should also avoid saying words such as what the hell, and etc.

We should do our best to love people, animals, plants and surrounding environment as they are all God’s creations. You should not abuse, even though it is for a good reason. You should leave everything up to God and let him take vengeance instead of taking matters into your own hand. We should also take care of the public commodities and abstain from vandalism.

Parents should love their children, instead of finding every reason to beat them. If your child makes a mistake, you should rebuke him and tell him properly instead of beating him. This is because beating can instill hatred in your child and he could become rebellion afterwards.

It is also wrong to yell at people when talking. Shouting at people is one way of abusing and bullying another person. Some people have the habit of yelling at people, and try to find fault with people in everything.

We should not think too much of our problems. Thinking too much will cause anxiety and depression. It can also open way for the devil to attack your thoughts.

(1 Timothy 1:9-11 KJV)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV)
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8 KJV)
