Leviticus 1

Creatures in seas and streams that do not have fins and scales are unclean (v. 10).

eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, vulture, and the kite after his kind, raven, owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl, And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle, And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat (v. 13-18).

What kinds of flying insects are unclean?
All flying insects that walk on all fours except locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper (v. 20-21).

What kinds of animals that move along the ground are unclean?
The weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind, And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole (v. 29-30).

Will the Israelite become defiled by touching dead animsl or unclean animals?
Yes.

Leviticus 12

How long will a woman become ceremonially unclean after giving birth to a son or daughter?
If the woman give birth to a boy, she will be unclean for 7 days. If the woman give birth to a girl, she will be unclean for 14 days. The length of time to be purified from her bleeding is 33 days for a boy and 66 days for a girl (v. 1-5).

Leviticus 13

Why is a leprous person isolated from the community?
To prevent the disease from being spread.

What must be done by a person that suffered from leprosy?
He or she must be brought to the priest to be examined.

What must be done by a leprous person?
They must wear torn clothes, keep their hair unkempt,c cover the lower part of their face and cry out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’ A person suffering from the disease will remain unclean. They must live alone outside the camp (v. 45-46).

Leviticus 14

What must be done by a person to cleanse himself after he is healed from leprosy?
He is to wash his clothes, shave off his hair and bathe with water.

What is to be done if the defiling mold spread?
All the inside walls of the house must be scraped. The material that is scraped off must be thrown into an unclean place outside the town. Other stones can be used to replace these. New clay can be used toplaster the house (v. 41-42)

What is to be done if the defiling mold reappear?
The whole house must be torn down including the stones, timbers and all the plaster and thrown to an unclean place (v. 45).

What is to be done if the defiling mold has not spread?
The priest is to purify the house with two birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop

What must be done by a person who enter into a house with defiling mold?
The person will remain unclean till evening. Anyone who sleeps or eats in the house must wash their clothes (v. 46-47).

Leviticus 15

What must be done by a man with an unusual discharge?
After teh discharge stopped, he is to wash his clothes and bathe himself with fresh water, On the eighth day, he must offer a sacrifice of two doves or two young pigeons.

What must be done by a woman during her monthly period?
Any bed she lies on will be unclean. Anything she sits on will be unclean, as during her period. Anyone who touches them will be unclean. They must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and be unclean till evening (v. 26-27).

Is a man allowed to touch a woman when she is having her period?
No.

What must be done by a woman that has usual bodily discharge?
She will be ceremonially clean 7 days after the discharge has stopped. She is to make an offering of 2 doves or young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting. One bird is used for sin offering while the other bird is used for a burnt offering. (v. 29-30).

Leviticus 16

How many times the Day of Atonement is celebrayed every year?
once.

What is performed on the day of Atonement?
First of all, Aaron has to offer a bull as his sin offering. After that, he is to present two goats before God and cast lot to see which one will be the scapegoat. The other goat will be used as sin offering/ Aaron will  lay hand on the scape goat, who bear all the sins of the Israelite. Finally, Aaron will release it into the wilderness (v. 20-22).

Leviticus 17

What must the Israelite before eating an animal they hunted? Why do God forbid the people to eat blood?
The person is to drain out the blood and cover it with earth, 14because the life of every creature is its blood (v. 13-14).

God wants us to be holy for him (v. 2).

What kind of woman can a priest marry?
A virgin (v. 7).

Leviticus 22

Who may not eat the sacred offerings?
Anyone that is unclean such as defiling skin disease, bodily discharge, touch a corpse, emission of semen, or touch any thing that is unclean.

Who in the priest’s family may eat the sacred offering?
Only the dependents of the priest may eat it. For example, a slave bought with money or born in the priest’s household may eat it. A daughter that marry anyone else other than a priest cannot eat it. If the daughter is widowed or divorced and she return to her father, she may eat it.

What is an unacceptable sacrifices?
Animals without defect, sickness or injury.

Leviticus 23

What is the Sabbath day?
The Sabbath day is the seventh day, on which the Israelite is to rest from their work.

What types of festivals are celebrated by the Israelite?
The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread, Offering the Firstfruits, The Festival of Weeks, The Festival of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement and The Festival of Tabernacles.

Leviticus 24

How long must the lamps on the pure gold lampstand burn in the Holy Place?
Continuously (v. 4)

Why is the blasphemer put to death?
He cursed God’s name (v. 11).

In what manner is a crime be restituted?
The same punishment is to be repaid to the person. For example, if you kill someone, you will be sentenced to death. If you kill someone else animal, your animal will be killed. The law of the restitution is fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth (v. 17-20).

Leviticus 25

What is to be done in the Sabbath year?
In the seventh year, the Israelite are not allowed to sow or prune or reap the harvests in the field. Whatever the land yield during the sabbath year will be food for the people (v.3-4).

What is to be done in the Year of Jubilee?
The Year of Jubilee, the 50th year, is the year when liberty is proclaimed throughout the land. Slaves will be released from their masters without having to pay anything. Any land thst is sold will be returned to the original owner.

Leviticus 26

What are the rewards for obedience?
If the people are obedient, God will bless them with abundant harvests and keep them away from their enemies.

What are the punishments for disobedience?
If the people is rebellious, God will destroy them with diseases, famine and sword.

Leviticus 27

How much must the person pay to redeem a person dedicated to the Lord?
20-60 years old – 50 shekels of silver (male), 30 shekels (female)
5-20 years old – 20 shekels (male), 10 shekels (female)
1 month – 5 years old – 5 shekels (male), 3 shekels (female)
60 years old and older – 15 shekels (male), 10 shekels (female)
If the person is unable to pay the specified amount, the priest will determine the value (v. 1-8).

How much must the person pay to redeem a vowed animal?
The person can redeem by adding 1/5 to the value of the vowed animal (v. 13).

How much must the person pay to redeem a house dedicated to the Lord?
The person can redeem by adding 1/5 to the value of the house (v. 15).

How much must the person pay to redeem a family land dedicated to the Lord?
The person can redeem by adding 1/5 to the value of the family land (v. 19).

How much must the person pay to redeem an unclean animal dedicated to the Lord?
The person can redeem by adding 1/5 to the value of the unclean animal (v. 27).

The person can redeem by adding 1/5 to the value of the tithe (v. 31).
