How Many Wives did Jacob Have?

Rachel_WilliamDyce

Jacob had 4 wives, two of which are the maidservants of Leah and Rachel including Bilhah and Zilpah. The sons of Leah were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun. The sons of Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin. The sons of Bilhah were Dan and Asher. The sons of Zilpah were Gad and Naphtali. He had 12 sons and 1 daughter. His 12 sons were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Asher, Gad, Naphtali, Joseph and Benjamin. His daughter was Dinah. The 12 sons of Jacob form the 12 tribes of Israel.

The tribe of Joseph is formed by his 2 sons including Ephraim and Manasseh. Jacob was the one who stole Esau, his elder twin brother’s blessing. God determined that Jacob will inherit the promised land of Canaan promised to Abraham and Isaac. God promised to look after him and bring him back when he was in Bethel, the place where he had a dream of ladder that reaches to the sky. Jacob promised to give a tenth of all he earned if God bring him back safely and God did fulfilled that promise to him.

We must always rely on God and let him guide us in all that we do. It is God who determine what to happen regardless of the plans that men have in their hearts. In whatever situation, you must pray and seek God’s help.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 KJV)

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63 KJV)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. (Jeremiah 29:11-14 KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV)

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1 Peter 5:7 KJV)

Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:4 KJV)

Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts. (Malachi 3:8-12 KJV)
