Can Christians Use Makeup to Improve their Appearance?

makeups

Christians should not use makeup to make themselves look more beautiful or presentable to the audience. Using makeup is a sin because it is vanity. You are also to avoid dyeing your hair, wear jewelry, undergo plastic surgery to make yourself look even more beautiful, or check out yourself at the mirror for a long time as these are all vanity. You don’t need to use makeup to improve your appearance. You are already beautiful. Each of us is a beautiful creation of God no matter if you have features that you don’t like or feel comfortable with. You should not care about what others say concerning your outward appearance but put importance on your inner beauty, a heart that faithfully serve God and desire to abide inĀ  God’s commandments.

And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. (Jeremiah 4:30 KJV)

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. (Proverbs 31:30 KJV)

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. (1 Timothy 4:8 KJV)

Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;) (1 Kings 8:39 KJV)
