Can Christians Take Drugs?

There are two types of drugs including prescription drugs and illegal drugs. Many people prefer to take prescription drugs when they are ill. Most people would prefer to take drugs rather than praying to God to heal their sicknesses. Prescription drugs can be as dangerous as illegal drugs. It is best that you pray also if you are taking prescription drugs. Drugs prescribed for serious illnesses can produce serious side effects that cause other problems to your health although they may help to soothe some symptoms. Therefore, it is important to trust in God when are sick. If you have faith in God, he can heal all your illnesses. Having faith in God is important for your prayer to be answered. 

Taking illegal drugs such as cocaine, marijuana, smoking pot, weed, tobacco and etc are all sins.  Many young people give excuses that they are still growing up and learning when they take drugs. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit so you must take care of it. Taking drugs can damage your health and lead to death. 

Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
