Bible Study on Making Apologies

I am sorry

The bible teaches us that we should settle with our adversaries and apologize to them before asking for God’s forgiveness. It can be difficult to apologize when you make mistake because of pride. You must let go of your pride and be humble to apologize if you do something wrong. If you ask for God’s forgiveness but you didn’t really forgive the person and have grudge, it won’t count. We should often confess our sins to one another and withhold no grudge in our hearts. No one likes to say sorry but no one is perfect as we all will mistakes. If someone rebuke you, you must examine yourself to see if this is true and apologize and ask for God’s forgiveness.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 KJV)

Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. (Luke 17:3-4 KJV)

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (1 Jon 4:7-8 KJV)

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32 KJV)

Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. (Psalm 34:13 KJV)

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; (Hebrews 12:14-15 KJV)

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35 KJV)

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Luke 9:23 KJV)

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:8-10 KJV)
